Grand Canyon Excursions

Excursions depart daily from the National Geographic Visitor Center, conveniently located on Route 64 just one mile south of the South Rim entrance to Grand Canyon National Park. Our commitment to smaller group experiences means that space is limited on each excursion so reserve your space in advance, either by clicking on the link below or calling toll-free (888) 355-0550. Special child pricing for certain excursions also applies to those 12 and younger and is detailed in the pricing information below each trip description. Please note that your excursion price includes free admission to the Grand Canyon IMAX movie.


Touring — 4 Hours

The Best of the Canyon

Interpretive walking/driving excursion exploring the Indian cultures, pioneer history, geological wonders, and awe-inspiring views of the Grand Canyon.

Departs from the National Geographic Visitor Center at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Times: 9:00 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. daily (Times vary seasonally and will be confirmed at the time of booking)
Maximum Group Size: 18 people (9 persons per trip leader)
Cost per person:
  Adult: $90
  Children (12 years and under): $45

Hiking — 5 Hours

Deep in the Canyon

Naturalist-led, moderate hike with historical and geological interpretations from the rim into the Canyon.

Departs from the National Geographic Visitor Center at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Time: 8:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. daily (Times vary seasonally and will be confirmed at the time of booking)
Approximate Distance: 3 to 6 miles
Elevation Change: 1,100-2,000 feet
Maximum Group Size: 12 people (6 persons per trip leader)

Sunset Tour — 3 Hours

Sunset on the Grand Canyon

This excursion takes you to the best vantage points at an optimal time for capturing the canyon at sunset.

Departs from the National Geographic Visitor Center at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Times:Excursion will depart three hours prior to sunset. (Departure time varies with the sunset throughout the year and will be confirmed at the time of booking)
Maximum Group Size: 18 people (9 persons per trip leader)
