Grand Canyon Excursions

Excursions depart daily from the National Geographic Visitor Center, conveniently located on Route 64 just one mile south of the South Rim entrance to Grand Canyon National Park. The Best of the Canyon

Interpretive walking/driving excursion exploring the Indian cultures, pioneer history, geological wonders, and awe-inspiring views of the Grand Canyon.

Departs from the National Geographic Visitor Center
Times: 9:00 A.M. and 2:30 P.M. daily
Maximum Group Size: 18 people (9 persons per trip leader)

Hiking — 5 Hours

Deep in the Canyon

Naturalist-led, moderate hike with historical and geological interpretations from the rim into the Canyon.

Times: 7:00 A.M.
Approximate Distance: 3 to 6 miles
Elevation Change: 1,100-2,000 feet
Maximum Group Size: 14 people (7 persons per trip leader)

Photography focused excursion takes you to the best vantage points at optimal times for capturing the canyon at sunrise or sunset.
