Trip Motif Deluxe Camping Rafting Positively Peru : Journey Highlights

The excitement begins in Cusco, historic capital of the ancient Inca Empire, where buildings constructed centuries ago are still in use. Moving into the Sacred Valley, you’ll see ancient weaving traditions at Awanacancha, then enjoy a splashy whitewater raft trip. Along with two nights of camping in fabulously comfortable tents under a brilliantly starry sky, you help make breakfast for local school children before heading out for more exploration on bikes and on foot. A private, early morning tour in Machu Picchu takes you deeply into these wondrous ruins. The trip takes a sporty turn down in the Ica region, where you can surf the sand dunes, ride dune buggies, and take a scenic flight over another ancient mystery, the Nazca lines. This makes a great family trip.

  • Making friends: Shop the market with your guide, then prepare and serve breakfast for all sorts of friendly, inquisitive kids at a local school.
  • Excitement: Whitewater rafting, zip-lining, horseback riding, mountain biking, and dune buggies keep your heart pumping and everyone laughing together.
  • Cultural connection: From the collector of ancient musical instruments in Cusco, to parents and children in Cachiccata, to your Peruvian trip leader and local guides, you have a chance to get to know the people of Peru.
  • Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and the Nazca Lines: Your guides bring the history of these sites to life, with tantalizing stories of centuries past.

"You’ll have lots of opportunities for fun and discovery, and also have the chance to give something back. This trip is a wonderful way to truly connect with the people and places of Peru." –Pam Bryan, OBP co-founder
