Day 1 (Sedona) Your guide meets you this morning at a central hotel location near the Phoenix airport and you head straight for Sedona. The two-hour drive is a nice opportunity to get to know your traveling companions, and there may be stops along the way as your guides point out areas of interest. An early check-in at the hotel provides time to settle in and explore with the guide or on your own. This evening we enjoy a wonderful Sedona-style dinner.
Day 2 (Sedona) A wonderful morning hike among the red rock monoliths of Sedona leads to a natural bridge that offers perfect photo-ops from both under and atop the bridge. On this afternoon’s exciting, 2-hour jeep tour, the jeeps climb to superlative viewpoints and descend steep, narrow passages. After a casual sunset dinner, the group is joined by an astronomer for some fabulous star gazing.
Day 3 (Grand Canyon) An early departure gets us on the way to the Grand Canyon! En route we stop at Slide Rock State Park in Oak Creek Canyon to see the natural waterslide and hike along the cree. Right before we enter Grand Canyon National Park (around noon) we catch the eye-popping IMAX film, which is a great introduction to what we’ll be experiencing up-close with our guides after the movie! This afternoon we enjoy a picnic lunch along the rim of the canyon and a memorable exploration of the South Rim area. Dinner is at the fabulous El Tovar Hotel.
Day 4 (Grand Canyon and Lake Powell) If you’re an early bird, sunrise over the Grand Canyon offers a beautifully tranquil experience before the bustle of the day begins. When the group circles up after breakfast, we squeeze in one last Grand Canyon hike then head for Page, stopping in at the fun Cameron Trading Post. We arrive at our Lake Powell resort in plenty of time for dinner. You can’t help but feel awed at the sight of this vast, sculptural expanse of rock and water.
Day 5 (Colorado river float and Zion National Park) Greet the morning at the base of the Glen Canyon Dam for a scenic, flat-water float on one of the most dramatic stretches of river in the West. During this easy, 14-mile trip down the Colorado River, your expert river guide points out wildlife and tells stories of the river’s history and nature. Lunch follows the float, then we drive to the charming town of Springdale, Utah, gateway to Zion National Park. Enjoy dinner on your own tonight, with an evening stroll through town to take in the astounding colors and amazing rock formations.
Day 6 (Zion National Park) Your final full day of this grand adventure is an immersion in the iconic canyons of Zion. Your guides select the perfect hike to connect you with this incredible place, with a picnic lunch along the way. At tonight’s farewell dinner, celebrate your shared experiences and the wonderful sense of belonging that comes with new friendships forged through travel.
Day 7 (Las Vegas for departures home) After a final breakfast and some deep breaths of the clean, warm, high desert air, settle back for the 3-hour drive to Las Vegas for early afternoon flights home.
