Trip Motif Hiking Walking Iconic New Zealand : Journey Highlights

Make a loop journey around the north end of the South Island, touching both beautiful coasts as well as the rugged mountains of the interior. Your adventure begins in Abel Tasman National Park, with a lovely lodge as a your base camp and water taxis as beach and trail shuttles. Each day brings new hikes and discoveries. Leaving Abel Tasman, you stop to explore the Pancake Rocks, and from there, head up into the Southern Alps. Your stay at a fabulous wilderness lodge (and high-country sheep station) offers abundant opportunities to hike, walk, star gaze, and explore the stunning surroundings. The trip rounds out in the Kaikoura District on the east coast, with an exciting whale-watching excursion and a memorable and personal Maori cultural experience. Enjoy this unforgettable taste of New Zealand, off the beaten path!
