Big Bend National Park

River of birds and island mountains in far West Texas

Big Bend National Park beckons! This south-on-the-border national park runs along the U.S.-Mexico line for 118 miles and is filled with surprises—because, really, what do you know about Big Bend National Park? Our advice? Stay at the national park lodge in the heart of the park and wake each morning surrounded by nature. By day, set out to explore the park’s canyons and basins with the 7,000-foot Chisos Mountains and meandering Rio Grande as the backdrop. In the evenings, listen for howling coyotes while you wait for full dark when you can enjoy stargazing in some of the darkest night skies of any national park.
