Saguaro National Park

Simply Stated – Stately Saguaro

Saguaro National Park preserves a stunning swath of Sonoran Desert, from high-desert floor to 8,666-foot mountain peaks. The Sonoran Desert, which extends from southern Arizona and California into Mexico, is the only place on earth you’ll find saguaro cactus. If you’re lucky, you might also find javelinas, roadrunners, hummingbirds, petroglyphs, and countless other desert treasures. The park is divided into east and west units (the Rincon Mountain and Tucson Mountain units, respectively), which straddle the city of Tucson. Roads wind through saguaro forest, and well-designed trails let you meander stately stands of these multi-armed, iconic symbols of the Desert Southwest.
