Itinerary

Day 1: Buenos Aires

A driver will meet you on arrival in Buenos Aires and take you to your luxurious hotel in the heart of the tree-lined Recoleta neighborhood. This afternoon, explore the area on a walking tour followed by a group dinner.

Day 2: Buenos Aires

The explorations of Buenos Aires continue today with a half-day city tour starting mid-morning. You’ll see some of the city’s iconic sites and neighborhoods including historic San Telmo, Palermo’s gardens, waterfront Puerto Madero, and colorful La Boca. The day ends with a delicious meal and a tango show.

Day 3: El Chaltén, Los Glaciares National Park

Today, we migrate to the wilds of Patagonia. After breakfast and a short domestic flight to El Calafate, our destination today is El Chaltén, nestled in the heart of Los Glaciares National Park. Catch sunset on the jagged peaks, stroll the charming town, and take in the stunning landscapes.

Day 4-5: El Chaltén, Los Glaciares National Park

We’ll spend two full days hiking Los Glaciares National Park’s trails with a naturalist guide leading the way. Expect breathtaking lookouts, untouched wilderness, alpine lakes, and forest foothills all under the backdrop of iconic Mount Fitz Roy and the soaring peaks of the Andes. Your lunches will be trail-side and each evening unwind with a delicious dinner in El Chaltén.

Day 6: Lago Viedma, Los Glaciares National Park

We’ll move to another, more remote corner of Los Glaciares National Park this morning, arriving at the charming retreat of Hosteria Helsingfors. After getting settled, kick back and enjoy or choose an immersive active outing on foot or horseback from the lodge’s doorstep. A memorable dinner of Argentinian flavors draws this day to a close.

Day 7: Lago Viedma, Los Glaciares National Park

A day of adventure and delicious meals awaits. Pick from a wide array of activities, like a walk on the shores of the lake with commanding views of mount Fitz Roy, a trek to Blue Lagoon, or set out on a scenic horseback ride. No matter what you choose, you’ll be surrounded by the wild landscapes of Los Glaciares.

Day 8: El Calafate

On the drive today, we’ll skirt Viedma Lake and take a tour of the La Leona Petrified Forest, offering a glimpse into the area’s prehistoric landscape that was full of abundant wildlife – including dinosaurs – and large flora. We’ll continue on to our cozy hotel in the heart of El Calafate and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 9: Perito Moreno Glacier, Los Glaciares National Park

On our final full day in Patagonia, we’ll visit the Perito Moreno Glacier. To get a unique vantage of the breathtaking glacier, we’ll take a kayak tour on the iceberg-filled lake. After our glacier-viewing adventure, we’ll drive to an estancia for a traditional Patagonian lamb barbeque (asado al palo) farewell dinner.

Day 10: El Calafate to Buenos Aires for Departures Home

It’s time to leave the wilds of Patagonia with your memories of epic adventures via the El Calafate airport to fly to Buenos Aires for homebound flights.

Helsingfors is located in a remote corner of Patagonia, away from any major town or tourism center. The lodge is surrounded by a majestic natural landscape, protected by lush woods which give way to a panoramic view of massive Lago Viedma, Mount Fitz Roy and the Andes Mountains. There are 9 rooms at the lodge, each with private bathroom and designed with an exquisite taste, combining colors and textures that blend in with the environment. Guests can share their daily adventures around a large fireplace in the living area or while enjoying a drink at the welcoming bar.
