Q: Which trips are appropriate for a family?

A: We offer six guided Family Adventures designed especially for families, with departures throughout the summer. Each journey offers the best family-friendly activities in the region, special events for children, time for families to interact on their own, and guides who make outdoor adventures come alive for all ages. Custom Journeys are for families who prefer to travel independently. A family works closely with an Off the Beaten Path Trip Coordinator to craft a vacation that meets their particular interests. All accommodations, activities, special guides, and details are taken care of in advance.

Q: How long has Off the Beaten Path been in business?

A: 20 years. Founded in 1985 by Bill and Pam Bryan, with the belief that there are discriminating travelers looking for nothing less than the most authentic and unique regional experiences. Bill and Pam’s understanding of a uniquely tailored travel experience, and their commitment to the stewardship of their regions of expertise, are the genesis of every Off the Beaten Path journey.

Q: What’s the difference between a Guided Journey and a Custom Journey?

A: Guided Journeys: Expert guides. Small group size. Prime travel dates. Guided Journeys are for those who want to travel in the company of a small group of like-minded travelers and accomplished guides. Choose from a boutique selection of expertly planned journeys, all which highlight the best of our region. Group size is 8-16 travelers, with a combination of singles, couples, friends, and families (those with young children can join our Family Journeys). Custom Journeys: For independent travelers. Our premium service. Custom Journeys are crafted just for you by expert Trip Coordinators, each specializing in selected regions within our territory.
